A lot of us want to set people free from the “burdens of this life’ and we have the ultimate solution...Jesus Christ.
But rather than show them a person who loves them unconditionally...
We hand over a bunch of conditions.
I see Christians getting angry when the world doesn’t obey the commands of God...But God isn’t upset with them right?
We tell them God loves them unconditionally but the reality we show (as evidenced by the social media comments) exemplifies a different heart...and I do not believe we are showing the nature of how much love and mercy He is capable of showing to humanity.
Many often show a heart that is angry, frustrated and judgemental to a world that is lost and hurting...in our desperation to make God’s way’s known, we forgot that He is LOVE and the only way they will see God and want to see Him is through LOVE...not rules...not religion.
Jesus didn’t come down and get angry with the Romans for beating and abusing his own people...Jesus didn’t even try and convince the Romans to follow God’s ways...instead, Jesus continually asked people to Believe Him, Trust Him and Follow Him. He asked us to Love him….
It’s the LOVE of Jesus that truly sets us free!
He has already carried the load for us… so, stop picking it up and definitely do not put that load on any other human being.
Perhaps you have been carrying the load too long, as well...He wants to take it off...and You are going to have to trust him, too. He said, "my burden is light"
Do you believe him when he said, “It is finished”?
Or are you still trying to finish it for him?
