CIRCLE THE WAGONS AND SHOOT OUT

Updated: Aug 5, 2021

When I was in Chiropractic school a professor said, "we as a profession are not unified, we circle our wagons and shoot in instead of out". He was referring to the fact that there are literally thousands of techniques to correct the spine and facilitate healing but we criticize and condemn those that do it differently. Settlers use to circle their wagons to provide a barrier of protection and shoot out against a common enemy. I can't help but see this same analogy play out in in Christians and Churches today.

We have a common enemy and yet we criticize and condemn each other for such elementary things like the type of music that's played, which version of the bible you read, what groups you attend, political beliefs, and even healthcare these days. Christ is coming back for a unified Church body. Can we partner with him on this and choose to lay down our cause so we can pick up our CROSS?

We can partner with Christ by loving our brothers and sisters well when we disagree about the "things of this world". We can partner with Christ when we choose to love those lost in the world when they don't yet see with spiritual eyes. Our common enemy wants nothing more than to watch us shoot in at each other instead of joining together with humble hearts.

I understand having strong convictions in your present cause; but did God tell you to champion that over the cross? If yes, and your cause (whatever that may be) is aligned with Christ's Cross...do it boldly and with Christ's compassion.

HAVE AS MUCH COMPASSION FOR THOSE WHO THINK DIFFERENTLY AS YOU WOULD WANT OF THEIR COMPASSION FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Remember always, "GOD'S WAYS ARE HIGHER THAN OUR WAYS...HIS THOUGHTS HIGHER THAN OUR THOUGHTS".
