If I am honest...I probably trust Him 28% and deep down I must believe that the rest is up to me...to take action...make it happen...work harder…”create my reality”...fix my own brokenness...
And that is why I feel stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed at times.
But Second Corinthians tells us some truth of where we can stand when we feel completely inadequate…listen to what Paul writes,
“All the hardships we passed through crushed us beyond our ability to endure, and we were so completely overwhelmed that we were about to give up entirely. It felt like we had a death sentence written upon our hearts”
*OUCH....perhaps some of you are there but when I read that I realize…”Hey, it’s not that bad”
But here is what Paul teaches us, despite this he says,
“It has taught us to lose all faith in ourselves and to place ALL of our trust in the God who raises the dead”
Let’s be honest....are we trusting God 100% with the dead things in our life?..whatever “they” may be...perhaps it’s our belief that things won’t get better, a wayward child, our business, our broken hearts, our finances, marriages...sickness, etc…
We don’t have to wait until the story gets too dim to put our trust in the God of the impossible to do exactly what He said he would do…”Make all things new”..."Have a plan for you that is Pleasing, Perfect and Good”...
Listen to who Paul says God is in the same passage in which he declares his brokenness…
“He is the Father of tender mercy and the God of endless comfort”
Take hold of that truth and speak it over your life...your situation…it is WHO HE IS~
