Paul urges us to live openly and expansively and says this “Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way” 2 Corinthians 6:11-13
To enlarge our thinking many turn to...books, self-help, self-effort, work harder, seminars, another study...these are all good things but God loves the simplicity of blessing us with transformational thoughts that can only come by His Spirit working in us. We humble ourselves when we trust in his power and not our own strength.
READ PSALM 103 (msg)....David sets the example for us
He instructs his soul to praise the Lord.
He reminds himself who he is.
He reminds himself not to forget who God is.
All while being consciously aware of his own sin, depravity, and weaknesses....(I am aware of all those things daily in my life...I am filled with shortcomings and I use to beat myself up on a regular basis when I failed daily)...this never leads to the freedom God offers.
Rather then worry or fret...we see David do one thing...WORSHIP
You have the ability to change your mind, your thoughts and the atmosphere around you... and this can be illuminated with God’s power through WORSHIP.
Worship doesn’t have to be singing, it can also be simply thanking God...it can also be declaring His Word...His truth out loud
Psalm 103 declares WHO GOD IS...Remind yourself of WHO HE SAYS HE IS:
He forgives your sins- every one
He heals your disease- every one
He redeems you from hell- saves your life!
He crowns you with love and mercy- a paradise crown.
He wraps you in goodness- beauty eternal
He renews your youth- you-re always young in his presence
There is no pill, diet change, book, seminar or oil that can be more expansively helpful to your life than to simply worship and we must do it DAILY.
When is the last time you worshiped the LORD with all your heart?
