Where we choose to focus our attention has a great impact on our lives. It affects how we think, affects how we are feeling and affects our spirit.
When we take our eyes off of God, His truths and His promises we are left to the world to dictate reality. Clearly we can see that the world will dictate the following traps of comparison, lack and fear in whatever arena you choose to lend your thoughts.
Listening to the news, gloomy posts and articles on social media, and the fear of others all began to work on my mind and spirit negatively. Followed shortly by a brief re-visitation of some long lost enemies named Anxiety and Depression. The stress weakening my immune system, I became physically ill catching an upper respiratory virus my children and husband had passed along over the past 4 weeks.
All because I took my eyes off the KING...and set them upon the worries of the world.
God led me to this passage to remind me to look at HIM. Psalm 24 (5-8)
"God is at their side; with God’s help they make it. This, Jacob, is what happens to God-seekers, God-questers.
Wake up, you sleepyhead city! Wake up, you sleepyhead people! King-Glory is ready to enter.
Who is this King-Glory? God, armed and battle-ready."
And here is what the Lord spoke to me which brought me great peace in the middle of my tears and I hope it brings your heart great comfort as well:
"I AM STILL ON THE THRONE"
If He is still on the throne then he is still in control.
A King on His throne is worthy of our TRUST, our FAITH and our WORSHIP. As believers we should know that not only does God remain on the throne, He has won the victory!
As Jesus told us to take "all our thoughts captive" let us trade ALL our worries and exchange them for our WORSHIP!
