Am I right? Who actually enjoys waiting for anything...be honest. I am likely on the extreme end of this spectrum. If you make me wait five minutes over the time you said you would arrive; I feel like actual life moments have been silently sucked away.
Patience is a virtue lost on modern society. Unfortunately for us "hyper-focused time" people; God is not going to change his ways to accommodate our schedules. We should be glad he doesn't because it's for our benefit.
Can you imagine working 7 years to marry the person you loved, and then you get to the alter and you marry the wrong person? And then you had to work another 7 years to afford the "right" marriage that should have only cost you the first 7 years? Yet this happened to Jacob (GENESIS 29).
Most of us can't wait 5 years for things to change in our marriage, or even one. We want results now and we want things to get better now. How about our businesses, finances and health? Those had better be improving in a nanosecond or frustration and tension arrives all too quickly on the scene. Yet most of these areas require persistence and patience for permanent improvement. Perhaps you have been praying and believing for a blessing from God. Perhaps we are just not ready deep down for the full measure of what God really intends for our lives. Most likely we want our life to look the way we want...not the way God wants. Are we willing to wait? Are we willing to trust that He does know what is best for us?
Here is what God says about the waiting:
I AM NOT SLACK CONCERNING YOU. (2 PETER3:9)
MY TIMING IS PERFECT. (ECCLESIASTES 3:1) I MAKE ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL IN MY TIME. (ECCLESIASTES 3:11)
And he encourages us with this:
YOU ARE ENLARGED IN THE WAITING. (ROMANS 8:25)
What are you waiting for that is taking too long?
HIS TIMING
HIS WAY
with
OUR FAITH!
