It’s so great to be riding on the top; filled with joy, peace and knowing you’re exactly where you need to be.
I often call this “in the flow”....I’m hearing from the Lord, I feel confident and secure, and overflowing with love for others.
But unfortunately when you’re on the top there is only one place to go...and that’s down.
In earlier years I use to think I might have missed something or made a mistake to be at a low zone” again...I simply wanted to stay in the “flow zone” all the time. But the Lord has shown me that the only growth zones are in the uphill zones...there must be resistance for growth.
Our muscles do not grow unless there is resistance and our faith works the same way. There is no growth without the challenge...without the resistance.
Every time I face the insurmountable climb back up...the Lord asks me to read James 1.
Honestly in those moments I say...Ugh!!!!!
But I read it anyway....
James 1:
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
In Habakkuk 3 (amp)
He is in great distress, he trembles with fear, waiting for destruction to arise, there is no fruit on the vine, no cattle and no food being produced....
And yet he declares (and we can too):
“Yet I will choose to rejoice in the Lord;
I will choose to shout in exultation in the victorious God of my salvation!
The Lord God is my strength, my invincible army.
He has made my feet steady and sure like hinds’ feet
And makes me walk forward with spiritual confidence on my high places of challenge and responsibility”
When you’re at the bottom or even not at your best...trust that the best work is being done in you right now....it will give you strength and peace to rise up and know that He is doing a good work in and through you...
Trust it
Fight for it
Believe it
Rest in it
There is growth happening for you right now in the challenge and in the climb....have confidence!“
